The construction industry accounts directly or indirectly for almost 40 percent of global CO₂ emissions while representing one of the lowest levels of digitalization. A transformational change is expected as decarbonization and sustainability focus is shifting rapidly toward the construction ecosystem. TERNA was founded based on the conviction that our technology can play an important role in this transformation.

With broad experience from construction, machine control R&D and scaling technology companies the founders of TERNA are committed to accelerate adoption of smart technologies on heavy machinery to increase uptime and reduce environmental impact.

Dag Sjöqvist

Dag Sjöqvist,

Co-Founder and CEO

Dag is an experienced executive with a long background in developing and scaling successful technology businesses. As Chief Operating Officer at Syncron Group, a leading SaaS provider serving major global manufacturers such as Caterpillar and Volvo Construction Equipment, he was instrumental in guiding the company's expansion into a multinational organization operating in more than ten countries. Prior to Syncron, he served as Group Vice President of Strategy and Ventures at ABB Ltd in Zurich, where he led strategic initiatives and M&A activities.

As TERNA's CEO, Dag focuses on scaling the company, driving commercialization, and building high-performance teams. His background in international operations, SaaS business models, and strategic leadership shapes TERNA's growth strategy and organizational development.

David Giertz

David Giertz,

Co-Founder and Chairman of the Board

David is an experienced entrepreneur with a long track record of challenging the status quo and establishing new business models. He founded DGC AB, a Swedish IT network and operations company that grew into a Scandinavian market leader, listed on Nasdaq Stockholm in 2010, and later acquired by EQT in 2017. Following the acquisition, he established Resona, a holding company managing a broad portfolio of ventures in real estate development, property management, construction, installation services, and technology reflecting his ability to scale enterprises across multiple industries.

As Co-Founder and Chairman of TERNA, David focuses on long-term strategy and business development. His background in founding and scaling companies in technology-driven sectors provides a strong foundation for guiding TERNA's growth ambitions and supporting its transition from innovation to commercial scale.

Erik Lindholm

Erik Lindholm,

Non-Executive Director and Senior Advisor

Erik brings more than twenty years of experience from Syncron Group, where he advanced from software developer to senior leadership positions including Vice President of Product Strategy and Vice President of Product Management. Working closely with some of the world's largest OEMs, he developed a unique mix of commercial and technical expertise and helped shape Syncron's product portfolio into a global market leader. He began his career as a trainee at ABB and holds a M.Sc. in Engineering Physics from KTH.

As a senior advisor to, and board member of, TERNA, Erik brings sharp product development insights, strategic thinking, and a passion for transforming complex business challenges into market-leading solutions.

Johan Gustafsson

Johan Gustafsson,

Co-Founder and CPTO

Johan's career began in advanced research within machine control systems, including collaborations with Volvo Construction Equipment. He has since spent several years developing the technologies that form the backbone of TERNA's services. His deep technical expertise, supported by an M.Sc. in Systems, Controls, and Mechatronics from Chalmers University of Technology, has been central to TERNA's innovation. His master's thesis on orientation estimation demonstrates his rigorous domain knowledge.

As CPTO, Johan oversees TERNA's product vision, technology roadmap, and R&D. His hands-on experience building the core technology ensures that the company's product development remains technically robust, forward-looking, and aligned with customer needs.

Mattias Korall

Head of Customer Success

Mattias has a strong track record in the machine control, geospatial, and surveying industries, combining deep technical knowledge with a customer-centric approach. His prior roles include Regional Director at Hexagon Geosystems and CEO of Topcon's Swedish reseller for geomatics and machine control solutions. Most recently, as Division Manager at Trafikverket, he led major initiatives to improve quality and efficiency across some of Sweden's most significant infrastructure projects.

At TERNA, Mattias leads Customer Success with a focus on onboarding, support, and long-term customer value. His industry expertise and commitment to customer outcomes make him a key driver of TERNA's service excellence.

Director R&D

Nick's background in the game development industry, where he released more than 20 titles, has given him world class capabilities in product development, design, engineering, and technical leadership. His experience building high-quality products at high speed has been a defining part of his career.

As Director of R&D at TERNA, Nick leads the development of next-generation applications and user experiences. His ability to deliver intuitive, high-performance products directly supports TERNA's mission to provide the most productive and user-friendly machine control system on the market.
